You can drive directly to the range and directly back to wherever you came from with no stops. That's about the only way.
If you're staying at a hotel it is not legal to possess or transport a handgun there. |

Wouldn't be wise.
I work here in Jersey for the big utility company for months on end. I'm a Nevada CCW resident and I have to leave my SBR's, suppressors and EDC's back home, it's hell. 
Do yourself a favor and "Google" non resident NJ gun laws. |

Borrow or rent one while in NJ. Why take the risk? NJ likes to make examples of pour slobs who make honest mistakes. We live behind the Iron Curtain here.
