Ain’t much to do in Vero (that’s kind of the point of it, IMO) but the Navy Seal Museum is in the area. That’s always worth visiting.

I didn’t respond directly, because I was waiting for some ideas like you addressed. My kids called the area zero beach for a reason. There is a winery about 1 mile east of I-95, on the south side of Indrio Road.
Since I don’t drink wine, I’ve never been there. Not much culture around here. There are several overpriced restaurants and a performing arts center near Riverside Park. Never been there either - lol. Great fishing, miles of public beach, a decent outdoor county run shooting range (Sebastian) and some good bbq to be found. Try out the OK Corral Gun Club for a first class shooting experience and a great restaurant. It’s about 10 minutes east of the city of Okeechobee, north off of SR 70. |

There is at least one good gun show held in the area.
There is one large and two small gun stores along the main strip. One of the small stores is literally jammed packed with historical stuff. (Example, a Pedersen Device modified 1903 Springfield rifle.) With all the retirees in the area who eventually give up their stashes due to old age, needing funds, or death, interesting stuff will be pop up in the gun stores, gun shows, and pawn shops. The area has some good Vietnamese restaurants. |

Not much in Vero maybe look into Melbourne area. The Navy Seal museum in Fort Pierce is neat but a little pricey-$15/person. Saint Lucie has a couple micro-breweries in Saint Lucie West. Other than that, there is not much to the area. Daytona is about a 1.5-2 hour drive North and has some neat things to see or West Palm Beach to the South,same distance roughly.
