I'm on vacation in a couple of weeks and will be passing through NV, UT, CO, NM and TX.   If something catches my eye in a local gun store, am I able to walk out with my purchase or will I be forced to ship it back to my AZ FFL?

Thanks in advance.

You can purchase long guns over the counter.  Pistolas will have to be sent to an AZ FFL.

I went through this before I moved back to AZ but was visiting.

If the purchase is an over-the-counter purchase in another state of a long gun or shotgun from an FFL dealer, then the answer is yes, so long as the purchase would be legal in the home state of the purchaser. Handguns must ALWAYS be delivered through an FFL dealer in the purchaser’s home state. According to the ATF:

From my experience, most FFL's won't sell you anything with an out-of-state DL, including ammo.
