Due to several roads being closed in the Dolly Sods and surrounding area, and other issues, we are relocating this event to Great Falls National Park.
Exact meetup grid and instructions to follow later this week. Meetup location: IVO MGRS 18SUJ04791847. This is the parking lot south of the visitor center. Report time: 0830. Gear: standard APC uniform and pack. Bring a sling, but long guns are unnecessary. APC provided training rifles will be utilized. Bring gloves, preferably double layered leather. Your pack should weigh no less than 35lbs and no more than 40lbs. <--this is important. Bring lunch and plenty of water. We will be continually engaged from arrival to approximately 1630. Questions? |

I'm in. If you need any help with logistics or setup just let me know.

I'm off that weekend, so sure I'll wake up at 5am so you can magically change the weather into a nightmare.
I saw the next one though in April. You seem to love making us carry people. |

We should also start planning carpools, since parking up there is limited and there are civilians/bystanders on site.

What gear will we have to bring?
All I have on hand is gloves and an auto locking steel carabiner. I do not have a helmet, rappelling ropes, or rope to fashion a Swiss seat. Regardless, looking forward to being at Dolly Sods again, hopefully we’ll have better weather then we did for August Rush |

Helmets do not need to be tactical/ballistic - a hard hat, skateboard helmet, etc in good condition should work. If you don't have one of those, there may be someone there with a helmet who wears the same size you do. At a minimum you need comfortable outdoors clothes/sturdy shoes and hydration. If anyone higher up has corrections, then disregard this post. |

Need to confirm one thing, since Dolly Sods is pretty big - is our initial meetup at the same point from last time?
Anyone with questions/hasn't been here before is welcome to IM me after I get confirmation. @Ben Due to several roads being closed in the Dolly Sods and surrounding area, and other issues, we are relocating this event to Great Falls National Park. View Quote I was just going to say something about the forest roads being closed until April and see the change now. If any non-veteran wants to avoid the fee, arrange to meet up and ride in with a veteran. |

Just had a change of plans and will be able to make it. Looking forward to this event.

If someone is coming from a distance and would rather be close by tonight to avoid driving several hours early in the AM, you can stay at my place tonight.
I expect there to be a whole lot of people at the park tomorrow because of the weather. That will make for long lines getting in at some point. |
