..."It is with great regret that I must cancel IGOLD for Spring 2020.  All rallies and lobby days are canceled for the rest of the Spring Legislative Session.  Only constitutional officers, legislators, staff, and employees will be able to enter the Capitol Complex on a regular basis.  Even lobbyists and witnesses in hearings will have limited access.  This does not mean the ISRA will stop working for you.  Once we get a clear idea of what is happening, we will contact you regarding what you can do.  Of course, you can still contact your legislators by phone, fax, email or in their district offices.  I expect the legislature to meet this summer.  We will plan for another IGOLD this fall if everything settles down by then."...

I expect there to be more IGOLD info over the next few weeks, but I read the plan for this year is the ISRA is asking gun and hunting clubs to sponsor busses and the ISRA will pay for the parking.

Currently, the Tri County Gun Club is trying to fill a bus for IGold 2020. Here is the link with the description: http://www.tcgc.net/igold-march/

..."If you're anywhere near Chicago Union Station, Joliet, or Bloomington-Normal, Amtrak is easy, cheap, and perfect on timing.

If you're near St. Louis, Alton, or Carlinville, it can work, too.

The adult round-trip from Joliet, say, is $28.  There is a cafe car for coffee and snacks"....

I've taken amtrak from the Joliet station.  Very easy, fast and comfortable.  My two older boys have made the trek with me the past couple of years.

I told their schools I was taking the boys to springfield so they could learn more about the lobbying process

Read that there's potentially an ISRA-sponsored bus for IGOLD departing from GAT Guns, East Dundee, but they did not have solid details.  More as available.

EDIT: No buses from GAT

Great!  The more the better and earlier notice gives people a better chance to coordinate being a weekday.  Also I don't think a lot of people look much in the HTF.

..."Our grassroots group doesn't have a website.  We now have some financial support so at this point we only need about a dozen more to make the reservation.  But once reserved, the bus will hold 56.  Call Jeff Meyers 618-244-0295 or Cliff Lindemann 618-316-9714"...

If anyone is coming from southern Illinois and needs a ride, or just wants to carpool send me an IM.

There are no buses from the Quad Cities or Galesburg?  Surely I'm not the only 2A person in the area.  As it is, it looks like my best bet is to drive an hour and a half to Chillicothe, if I can even get a spot on their bus at this point.

I would be interested in carpooling with someone from the Palatine/Schaumburg/Barrington area. The bus doesn't sound like much fun.

I do not like buses, but, there is a much better chance to network with folks sitting in a bus for a few hours.... ;)

I'm hoping we can get a really good turnout from the west/sw burbs....
