I have hiked at Wekiwa Springs State park a couple times. They have a number of trails, and I believe one of them is a little short of 6 miles. The trail I'm thinking of isn't paved and does get a little tricky at some points. Downsides are you do have to pay per vehicle, and it gets really crowded unless you get there by 9.

Im probably good for this one. I dont know if Ill go all out with the weighted pack. Probably just go for the hike and exercise.

I am working late that Friday night but what the hell I am in!!!

I'm having oral surgery on the 26th. Doubt I'll be able to attend.
I'm working nights right now. Keep me on the list I will participate as my schedule allows.
This is good I know the area as I have camped on the other side of the lake at Moss Park. I have been out to this site for my job once as well. Not many people use the area from what I can tell.
I plan to attend. |
Since I'm doing the Tampa one today. I'm going to have to skip this one. But I wish you guys the best and I'll try to make it next time.
Might attend this one.
Plus OP sets a new higher standard in OPORDs! |
I may drive down for this one too, had a great time at the Largo hike today.

NCBB had marching music, played Van Halen over speakers while they hiked. FL, we gotta step up our game!!

Timeline has moved an hour later based on AAR comments from the Tampa group’s hikes.
Members tend to drive long distances to join the event, so an extra hour allows more time to arrive for the out-of-towners |

Now to throw this in the mix if you are traveling long distance and want to kill the rest of the day on the range
Triple N range is only at the most a 45 min. drive away 595 Donovan Crews Rd, St Cloud, FL 34773 https://myfwc.com/hunting/safety-education/shooting-ranges/triple-n-ranch/ |

I'll be there! Any issue with bringing SO's if they wish to attend?

I have a way to get around the rifle weight, a spotting scope attached to a M1 stock or any stock you could mount a spotting scope and sling.
It may raise eye brows but it's a spotting scope I will bring it to meetup Granted it would be lighter than rifle, but we are also out there to observe nature in it's natural habitat Attached File Attached File Attached File l |

I was interested in making this first meetup, my son has two basketball games left, one this Saturday and the last one on March 7th at 10AM, with practice at 9:30AM. Hopefully I'll be able to make the next one, if it's not on March 21st. Have a Florida Carry meetup here in Gemini Springs park that day. Wish you all a great hike and post pictures, I want to get some ideas on how to prepare for the next one.

I think I can actually make this one so I’m gonna try to be there.

35 # ruck minus water to qualify, correct?
Nevermind I read the opords... Edited for: due to my laziness. |

@leftytheking
My notification didn't work. One thing I've seen from the LivePD threads is to try putting a blank line between each @ and they usually do only 5 or 6 per message. |
OK, I see the real reason. You have me spelled "tclfa" and it should be "tcfla".
I will ask again anyone thinking about going to range after hike?
Alright, I won’t make this one, owe that AM to family.
I like the idea of Wekiva for the next go-round, it’s a zoo but has some good trails. |
I’m gonna commit to this one, I’ll be bringing a plus one if that’s ok. I can’t do the range after, But I’m gonna be there
Looks like about 55-60 deg. F. with up to 15MPH winds at 10AM tomorrow. Dress accordingly.
I'll be there. SpartacusJr won't (forgot he had a pre-existing engagement elsewhere).
If anybody wants their ruck weighed, I'll have a hand-held luggage scale, it's pretty damn slick. @MoarCoffee taught me that trick. I'd like to have OP and another member witness my weight so I can use this as 3 miles toward my 3rd Class rating. |
Regarding the range: without much interest it seems a range trip afterwards might be better after people get out there a time or two.
I figured I’d pick up a luggage scale as well so we can give people a feeling for how heavy their packs are. Attached File ETA: added a route map for reference |
Looks like I can make this one after all. See you all in a few hours.
