Are turkey knuckles a big thing in Michigan?  (I had never heard of them until I worked with a guy from Detroit)

Been in MI since '58, I was born in Detroit and lived there a few times and never heard of them.

Now a "Detroit BBQ" on side streets, heck yeah

OP.

Detroit is Detroit. Michigan starts outside of I-69.

Lived in Michigan, on the western lake shore for over 50 years.
There is a LOT of regional differences and chow, but you will have a hard time finding Detroit stuff here.

"Turkey Knuckles" sound like good chow though, and seeing as how Michigan grows/raises everything Detroit eats...it should be a staple but isn't.
t's gonna be hard to find a Dutchie, or Swede Butcher, to even spend the time cutting them. That's scrap work, and practiced by the city Butchers, cashing in on breaking down whole Turkey Carcasses.

Gonna have to pick up some, next time we get down and over.
