I know a big storm is forecast for this evening, but I plan on arriving Taos no later than 5 pm local.  I’m driving into Taos from I-25 (driving to the west, from the east).  In summer, I’d take the shortest route, but are roads clear?  Which route is best?

- Cimmaron > Eagles Nest > Taos
- Las Vegas > Mora > Taos

OR, loop all the way south of the mountains and drive up thru Santa Fe?

The weather reports for the last several days have shown daytime highs of 35 - 40 degrees in the mountains (e.g., Tres Ritos).
