Hello, anyone have any thoughts on traveling on 151 from Dubuque, and around Madison, to South of Green bay, this time of year, maybe tomorrow or Sunday??

Snowstorm is coming saturday night  & sunday... heaviest to north of that route. Central & southern areas of WI got heavy snow yesterday.

The route you listed would be the fastest. You wouldnt be going through the downtown areas of Madison on teh route you listed. 18/151 coming into Madison shouldnt be bad on a saturday. The Beltline (US 12/18 to go east) should be ok also til you get to the I39/90 exit (its on the left side to go north to get to 151 north). The 151 North exit is a 2 lane exit, make sure to stick to the right lane (towards Sun Prairie which is off 151). I39/90 should be ok since its not a holiday weekend. 151 from the interstate to the other side of Sun Prairie can be a madhouse on a saturday. After Sun Prairie the traffic should be rather light.

As was said before, its supposed to snow tomorrow night.

As you clear Beaver Dam, don't take hwy 26. it's 55mph and single lane, stay on 151 (dual lane/65MPH) and then connect onto 41 using Military rd.

It's faster....

I used to make that trip all the time to Davenport.

Did you want to see any sights, or just fastest route?

I've driven it a few times, just not in the winter. Yesterday, it was not a good choice, but I made it, barely! Thanks

What route did you take?

I took 151 from Dubuque to Fond Du Lac, and 41N, big mistake.

In that weather, I don't believe you had a better route choice.

Harv is right, that's the best choice regardless of the weather.  There wouldn't have been a way around it based on the storm track.

Your both probably right. But it was a thrill pulling a trailer through that storm...

Yeah, I bet, the timing of that storm sucked. We got more than the weather hacks predicted.
