Well it looks like sometime around the first week of June we'll be in Ya'lls fine state for a part of a road trip in the Motorhome. In general with your Governor eating Tide pods what can we expect? Camp grounds full or empty? State Police stopping out of towners? Any unseen gun laws I missed? We'll be coming from a LR match in Iowa and wanted to knock out N. Dakota and Michigan while we're so far from home. Any really neat stuff to do that we should not miss? We'll be coming in from the North as we cut across to drop down I-95 toward Mackinaw. We enjoy fishing , camping, shooting, antiquing and just seeing the sights. We're retired ( older) and don't need 20 mile hikes or rock climbing ventures.

Thanks for the input guys!!

First week in June is risky given the current executive orders.

State DNR campgrounds are closed until late June.

Restaurants are take out only through at least May 28th. A lot of businesses are shut down until May 28th.

I suggest you take a ride up through Ontonagon county up to Lake of the Clouds.  It is part of the Porcupine Mountains State Park.  You don't have to buy a state park sticker to drive to the overlook of the lake.

Keweenaw county north of Houghton enjoyable enough.  Brockway Mountain drive gives you an awesome view of Lake Superior.  If you like history, Ft. Wilkens is just east of Copper Harbor.  Lots of Mining history in that area as well.

In the central U.P. out of Munising & toward Grand Marais is Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore.  East of there is Tahquamenon Falls.

As for camping.  Most state parks will be packed & often reservations are needed. You can camp at State Forrest and National Forrest campgrounds for a lesser fee.  Michigan allows camping on state land with no fee.  Much like BLM you are limited to 14 days in one place.  There is a permit to print & display but that usually isn't enforced.  Most of the casinos have some provision for camping with hook up.

Shooting is allowed on state land. Basic safety is required.

I don't think I am out of line here.  If you have troubles, post a message on the hometown forum.  There are ARFCOM members scattered all across the state who can help.

You won't have problems with out of state plates,  when Whitmer's orders were at their wackiest out of staters were still fine.  Plus there's little police presence out and about anyway (highways have been running at a pretty fast clip).

As mentioned above state park campgrounds will be closed. My guess is by June people in this state are going to be doing their normal activites.  There's not much better than a Michigan summer so I doubt it'll be wasted,  places will find a way to be open and serving tourists.  This weekend we have nice weather,  yesterday's northbound traffic felt pretty solid on 127, boats, campers etc. It'll be only more so by June.

Thanks guys for all the info/input. I'm FINALLY getting to shoot a match but I'm having to drive 1000 miles to get to the match. We have always wanted to do Michigan ( N. Dakota too) and we'll be awfully close. We just though we'd tour around for a few weeks after the match since we're retired. I really hope it works out for us because this "stay at home" stuff just isn't us.

Since ND is part of your travel plans, take in the Lewis & Clark Interpretative Center north of Bismarck.  Fort Lincoln south of Mandan is interesting as well.  The state historic museum at the state capitol is worth a look too.

Out on the west end is Theodor Roosevelt National Park.  The "Red Road" is a scenic drive but I believe it is still gravel.
