UKIP's response to the jailing of Tommy:
Thank you for contacting us regarding the recent imprisonment of Tommy Robinson. The reason he has been arrested (and sent to prison) is because by attending that event he was breaking the terms of his suspended sentence and was therefore in Contempt of Court. Apparently Tommy was openly asking security and police officers on the ground “Am I in breach of my parole?” and they told him “No you are not.” But what he should have done is check with a lawyer rather than rely on a layman’s advice.
There are efforts to get this sentence overturned
The reporting restrictions on Leeds cases (T20177360, T20187130 - Regina v. faisal nadeem, mansoor akhtar, manzoor hassan, mohammed asaf akram, mohammed azeem, mohammed azeem, mohammed irfraz, nasarat hussain, sajid hussain, wiqas mahmud) were recently lifted this signifies those trials are over, and therefore the reporting restriction on case S20180448 (Regina v. Tommy Robinson on breach of s4(2) CCA1981) is also lifted.

Please expect a lot of action on that now, as we are now free to explore who, if anyone, Judge Geoffrey Marson consulted with
in the gaps in case S20180448 on May 25, 2018:
Contempt of Court Proceedings - Case adjourned until 12:30 - 12:22
Contempt of Court Proceedings - Case adjourned until 14:00 - 13:12
Contempt of Court Proceedings - Resume - 13:59
Contempt of Court Proceedings - Case Closed - 14:26
For UKIP this is a clear issue of Freedom of Speech, and the suppression of an individual’s right to express their own opinion in a free society, even if some may not agree with the comments made. Political Correctness and “ethnic identity” politics have now obviously combined to clamp down on our traditional freedom of speech, totally ignoring that such freedom also includes the right to give (and take) offence.
UKIP Peer Malcolm Lord Pearson has written to Home Secretary, Sajid Javid, saying : “if Tommy is murdered or injured in prison I and others will mount a private prosecution against you as an accessory, or for misconduct in public office.”
Gerard Batten, UKIP Leader, has also just now released an interim statement (with further statements to follow):
“I don’t have the full story yet but it’s reported Tommy Robinson has been arrested for a ‘breach of the peace’ for live streaming a report outside the trial of a grooming gang trial at Leeds Crown Court. Unconfirmed reports say he has received a custodial sentence. We await further information. What kind of Police state have we become? Someone who campaigns against the mass rape of children by perverted cult members is arrested for reporting on it. His book is entitled ‘Enemy of the State’ and he wasn’t kidding.”
