I completely forgot about this. I never wanted to be in a union to start with but paid my union dues.

If the union wants members, they should convince the workers why they should join and pay dues.

I'm in a union shop. I was told even if I didn't join the union dues would be taken out of my check. Of course the union offers other benifits that make it worth joining.

Where I work, joining is optional and the reps scam new employees into paying dues.

They are not even informing them that they can NOT represent them for the first two years.  They also provide nothing additional (benefit wise) for the employee except for the occasional free snacks.

Got to love unions!  I never paid them a dime thank god!
