Virginia to do away with accelerated math classes in the name of equity

Yes, insane.  I am hoping this is starting to wake up some people in the suburbs.

They need to boot math to make room for Equity & Critical Race Theory classes & so the brown kids can keep up.

It won’t. Leftists and suburban socialists wear some heavy duty blinders to anything the man on the tv doesn’t talk about.

So instead of trying to elevate more students that are not ready for advanced class's yet, they want to eliminate the advanced class's  in the name of "equity". So the students already advancing faster then there class mates will be slowed down to ensure the students not advancing as fast can keep up. Sure, that makes sense

Exactly.  And these same ass clowns screaming about equity for minorities can't see how blatantly racist this idea is.  The VDoE is basically saying we don't think minorities can perform as well so we are going to dumb down the entire math system so it is fair?  I miss intelligent life forms.

And the gifted poor & minority kids will never get the chance to be identified early way to go Teachers ! #itsforthechildren

I was one of those guys that blew through math.
My Freshman year in Catholic high school I brought in the
solid geometry book I had worked through the year before.

IHM sister that was head of the math department had a PhD in math.
She parked me in Algebra Trig with a bunch of juniors and seniors.

I consistently scored highest on every test.
Took Advanced Placement BC calculus my Junior year.
Scored a 5 on the AP exam.

No dual enrollment with a CC existed way back then.
In college started off in vector calculus for engineering.

Has anyone tried contacting the The Virginia Department of Education? I feel like that's one areas the left destroys us at, being active. Far to often we(all fingers pointing at me as well) sit back and moan and groan and unfortunately that never fixes anything. For the record i haven't tried contacting them yet i was just curious if anyone else has.

From what I can tell, there's still intended to be a clear path to taking calculus and IB classes.  At first I was appalled, but I'm starting to see some light as more info comes out.  The key to whether this may be a decent idea is all in the details of the curriculum replacing the standard Alg I, Geometry, and Alg II.

They've wholly become an indoctrination station and now Biden wants to start them at age 3 to diminish the parents influence...

On paper, "equity" sounds great but at the end of the day it merely keeps people stupid enough to go get a low wage job and make them dependent on the government. The end goal is to make them voters, for life. They're not just promoting "equity" but also telling them who to vote for, for the rest of their lives. It's an indoctrination process to make them voters for life.

Bill Gates is pushing this:

Can't think of a more compelling argument for education vouchers.  Wanting to dumb down education is just plain dumb.
