Looking to escape from Washington. I happened to come across the town of spearfish in my internet travels and thought it looked like a nice place.
Wanted to know if it would be a decent place to live? Is there work to be had? Things to do? ect.

Spearfish is a beautiful town, lots to do if you are into the outdoors. What profession are you in? The Job market is decent not as much of a variety as Rapid City but plenty of people make the trip daily.

Equipment operator/ plant maintenance for concrete readymix plant.

Lots of those kinda of jobs in the area. There's a Large Concrete plant in Rapid, Lots of Asphalt plants in the area too. Always a demand for heavy equipment operators.

Spearfish is a college town and a town of second homes for the wealthy as well. Fairly expensive to live there. You would be better off in Rapid City with your skills.
