How does MN handle non-shotgun, "firearm" type weapons (essentially sub-26" OAL shotguns)?

AFAIK, if the shotgun barrel is less than 18", it is a SBS.
I have no particular interest in those "firearm" shotguns though, so I'm not sure if they fall into a MN loophole or not. After seeing plenty of YT "trials" using them for, well, anything, I have concluded they only have conversational value and bought an AR pistol instead
