There was some sort of micro burst or something early this morning with the thunder storms.

Recently bought the house and the roof is/was 6 weeks old.

Looks like a root rot tree disease is to blame. Tree was very healthy looking but it broke under the ground at the root ball.

Hit my house and the neighbors house.

Damn man. We didn't have any damage at our house, or that I noticed in Lawson. The winds were pretty high when I came home around 2am.

My last house had all sorts of big ass trees. This house had one tree, basically right down the middle of the property line.

I damn near gave away my chainsaw to a buddy because i didnt think i would need it.

Spent all morning sawing this bitch up so when the tree service got here they could get to the roof fast in case it started raining again.

Luckily, it looks like there are no leaks.

No fun at all.

Friend of mine had the same thing happen to him around a decade ago, ins tried playing all their usual games and it was a head ache for him and the neighbor.

Insurance paid to get the tree off the house, but not tree removal.

It is about 60" at the widest point on the stump. Which is a real bitch to saw up with my 20" chainsaw.

Cause of death: suspected root rot, maybe the covids.
