I just got off the phone with the Xenia ODNR office. They're waiting on the contractor to get back with them about improvements so bullets won't go over the backstop. In other words, make them taller. Planning on opening sometime this spring. View Quote |

Another John Belluardo's flyover video from 2/3. The backstops at 14s looked taller compare to 10/4 video but when he turned around 1:18 look the same. No excuse if made no progress after 4 months!

I’m thinking it’s time to move this up the food chain if possible.....can anyone confirm if this is the 10th congressional district? It looks to me like it’s Congressman Mike Turners area ?

My state rep is Niraj Antani and I just reached out to his office explaining the lack of information and asking for his office to inquire based on multiple push backs for date of opening. We shall see but if we could get a few more inquiries started we might raise some attention.

Here's some information at least from Bill Deans legislative aide:
"The completion of the Spring Valley Shooting Range improvement project has been delayed. During construction of the project it was determined that the original design did not provide adequate assurance that all fired bullets will be safely confined within the range. The design issues are being addressed so as to provide a safe shooting experience for users of the range as well as the general public. The Division of Wildlife is focused on creating safe and modern shooting ranges for the citizens of Ohio. We appreciate your patience as we work to complete the first phase of construction, while phase II construction of the Outdoor Education Training Center proceeds. " @rod727 @Bryan_Aim |

I heard back from the office of my state rep Niraj Antani. A rather generic response but a response non the less.

Rick Perales's aide told me he called ODNR last Monday asking for more in depth answers about the delay in opening the range. ODNR hasn't gotten back to him yet but he say's he'll follow up if he doesn't hear from them soon.

This has turned into a bad joke. They are almost 6 months behind schedule on a job that was supposed to take a year in total. This will probably end up taking almost two years when it's all said and done.

I wonder if it's one of the newer neighbors that's some how causing the problem.
Anyway, here's the person with the ODNR who replied to Rick Perales and probably Bill Dean since the replies were the same: Ethan Zucal Ohio Department of Natural Resources 2045 Morse Road, Building D-3 Columbus, Ohio 43229 614-265-6836 [email protected] |

I thought ODNR was saving the grand opening for Trump to cut ribbon when he comes to Ohio, but I guess not. Maybe at the two years anniversary, they would organize a march in event. No news, no update, even John B stopped flyover.

Update:
The Class C shotgun range and Class D archery ranges at Spring Valley Wildlife Area are reopening to the public on Saturday, Aug. 22, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. These shooting ranges were initially closed for repairs and enhancements during the construction of a new Outdoor Education Center at Spring Valley Wildlife Area. The Class A range (supervised rifle and pistol) is still under construction and will remain closed at this time. BFA |
