Taking a bit of a different path in life, work wise anyway, and the family and I should be closing on our first actual house sometime within the next month or so.

It was a lovely 14hr drive from Louisiana on Friday and realtor had 3 houses to show us, the third being our choice. One of those cookie cutter neighborhoods on the outskirts of Amarillo. It'll be good for the kiddos since our home here has had them secluded sort of. Kinda bummed I won't be able to shoot off the porch anymore but life is life.

Might be a little culture shock going to Amarillo, but welcome to TX.

You’re going to like the summer time due to the decreased humidity.

Honestly from that short little weekend trip it wasn't bad, but fuck was it cold.

Welcome to Texas.

I like Amarillo and the panhandle area.

It's so flat you can see your dog run away for 3 days.

Do you get extra points if it's your wife's dog? Maybe 6 days?

Welcome OP. I'm on the La. border and head to Colorado every July for the weather. You're going to LOVE the 5% humidity. Just remember that the Cajun food can be shipped from Dons or any of the other places.

Palo Duro Canyon is just a short drive south of Amarillo. Pretty cool canyon and state park.
