Fond memories of Manley’s in St. Ignace.  Looking for a business willing to ship smoked menominee.  Any recommendations?

Well, google says Menominee is an American Indian tribe.

I'm willing to bet you're not a cannibal.  So what is menominee?

I think it's smoked chubs(horned dace)?

It's a whitefish.  If I remember correctly, tribal fishermen provided Manley's with fish at one point.  I recall an issue involving trap nets versus gill nets.  It's the best smoked fish I've ever had.

Thank you!  Yeah, my timing isn't the best.  I may have to wait for it to cool down, especially here in the West.  It's been hot and it looks like I'd be pushing the shipping limits (e.g., ice).

It looks like Gustafson's in Brevort, Michigan also ships, however, the in-store demand is so high over the summer, they won't resume shipping until the Fall (which may work out with the heat).

I'll report back if I'm successful in case there are any other Michigander expats that may be interested.
