You are only allowed 10 projectiles otherwise it would be considered assault/high capacity and illegal.

tl:dr  Republican politicians in NJ are focusing on minor issues such as slingshots while ignoring 2A infringements.

BREAKING! CHEESEMAN UPSET AT SLINGSHOT BILL INTRO!
PATRIOT PIN RECIPIENT WANTS 2A LEGISLATION INSTEAD!

by Black Wire Media Friday May 12, 2023 www.cnjfo.com/join-us

CNJFO member and Patriot Pin recipient, SCOTUS petitioner (Case #19-27) and well-known Second Amendment firebrand Mark Cheeseman, sounded-off this morning about the needless slingshot bill in the New Jersey legislature. Irritated by all of the other extensive legal problems New Jersey gun owners face on a daily basis, Mark took aim at the wasted time, money and opportunity spent trying to fix New Jersey's slingshot law when so many unconstitutional abuses of power are currently stayed by Federal Court Judge Marie Bumb's TRO. From Cheeseman:

"Going to get a bit political. I'm not really a big fan of mixing politics with any constitutional right. Namely combining the Second Amendment with politics, I've found that to be the mother of all things screwed up.

Fact is we now have somewhat of a hybrid Second Amendment right to self-defense outside the home. The process is far from perfect or even pure constitutional. The process of getting a carry permit is burdensome and vague.

What's infuriating is seeing a bill for slingshots reintroduced. Exactly why is this important when we have so many other issues that need to be addressed?
If you are in a position of responsibility for legislation or running for office, you should have some form of language or communication with the Second Amendment issues in N.J. I have no appetite for your primary infighting or mudslinging. Frankly the republicans have lost the ability to communicate any coherent message concerning Second Amendment issues. Only a handful have been outspoken.

Those of you who are candidates. It's time to touch the third rail. Nothing to be afraid of anymore, so either start talking about real solutions to our existing problems or you stand a good chance of losing two million votes.

I'll help you; we have a dysfunctional instant check system.

We have a permit to purchase a handgun system that can go away.

We have multiple issues with the permit to carry system and the statutes that are required.

We have multiple gun laws and ammunition laws that can be taken apart with a well written bill.

Keep your slingshots and think twice before you smack us in the face again."

---Mark Cheeseman, SCOTUS Petitioner Case 19-27

---EDITOR'S NOTE:
We feel the same way Cheeseman does and implore our readership to challenge their state representatives to actively work on our current Second Amendment freedoms being attacked! Fixing problems that simply don't exist--since nobody recently knocked-over a bank or liquor store with a slingshot lately--is misdirected "help" at best! We don't have a "gun problem" in New Jersey, we have "leaders" that are OUT-OF-TOUCH with the needs of the People.

"I'll keep your firearms, but as a TOKEN, you can have slingshots *on us*.

Sounds like a fair exchange.

Sling Shots Save Lives

There were also a couple of good bills that were introduced.

Bill A5483
Session 2022 - 2023
Removes State Police as point of contact for firearm purchase background checks; requires firearm retailers to contact FBI to initiate background checks.

Bill A5484
Session 2022 - 2023
Concerns certain sale and possession of firearms; repeals personalized handgun law.

Don't know if they'll pass but they're worth a shot.
