Maybe a better article here?

https://www.dispatch.com/news/20200203/top-ohio-gun-group-probably-destroyed-themselves-inside-buckeye-firearms-association-shakeup

A morning of chaos

The day started with a post on Buckeye Firearms Association's website detailing the group's opposition to House Bill 354, a proposal from Rep. Phil Plummer and Rep. D.J. Swearingen, both Republicans. The bill was pitched as an alternative to Gov. Mike DeWine's gun plan.

The post, which initially listed no author, said the proposed legislation "creates a train wreck of problems for Ohioans and may be the single worst piece of legislation we have seen in a very long time."

Within hours, the group's board of directors had called a meeting to remove Irvine from two key roles in the organization.

What happened during those five-and-a-half hours? Emails obtained by The Enquirer paint a picture of external pressure and internal discord.

"Speaker of the House just torched me over the article we published," Buckeye Firearms Association legislative director Sean Maloney titled one email sent to group leaders.

Same shit article.

Bets I can figure , they fired their lobbyist who they accuse of writing a no compromise post .

Apparently BFA is looking to compromise us into some gun control

What's not clear?  BFA dismissed Irvine because he screwed up BFA's close relationship with Ohio legislators.

Dorr at Ohio Gun Owners can pound sand, all he cares about is raking in donations.

The Second Amendment has become monetized. I'm not sure any of the 2A/Gun Rights organizations are TRULY on our side anymore.

Once the money STARTS rolling in or STOPS rolling in the focus changes.

Anything involving Larry Householder should be carefully scrutinized

Republicans in the suburbs are pretty moderate and they need to be that way to stay in office.  I see it every day living in Delaware County.

The Republican party is TERRIBLE at fighting the Bloomberg propaganda that gun control is the cure to the violence issue.  The facts dont support Bloomberg, the Republicans should be pushing back and presenting the arguements as "scientific fact" and if you argue against it you're stupid, like the liberals do with climate change.

Since they either cant or dont want to fight the propaganda and its an election year, its politically easier to just offer up some watered down gun control.

We all love the patriotic arguements against gun control, but that doesnt work when dealing with uninformed moderates in the suburbs.  You have to present the studies by Lock and the FBI data as the gospel.

Look at the police chief of Columbus the other day, going on and on about "gun violence".  Well chief, Columbus has a gang violence problem and your refusal to truly name the problem is not going to help the real issue.  They say gun violence and the masses say "we should do something about guns!" Instead of "We should do something about gangs!".

The only thing Republicans here know how to say is

“Vote Republican and give us money because you don’t want Democrats to win now do you?”

They are pathetic.

It was a culmination of personality differences between Jim and a couple of board members.  Emotions kicked off an emergency meeting and they were able to get enough to join them in voting him off bod and as lobbiest.

Jim is still on board of Buckeye Firearms Foundation and PAC which are separate organizations and boards.  The foundation (501c3) does the FASTER Saves Lives program, youth safety and training along with the litigation against Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati et al and will continue to promote the education, training and safety
