Yeah if they pass this it's going to mean every gun owner will become a felon if they ever alter their gun in any way.

Although doesn't going to codes mean it's not going anywhere yet?
Also changing the barrel or choke on your Fudd shotgun would be a felony too...as that is not routine maintenance or cleaning...that's altering the gun. Like anyone will follow this bullshit. |

Codes Committee is where most bills pertaining to firearms are introduced. From there it will either go to Rules or right on to the floor calendar.

If it passes its a way to justify shutting down the sale of all parts except to fully licensed dealers.

Yeah you won't be able to buy parts from place like brownells or do any work on your own guns without risking arrest.
I'm sure it will pass. I'm tempted to get a gunsmith license. The form looks like a pistol permit application. Probably you still won't be able to buy parts because dealers will restrict sales to FFLs. |
