Listed an AR on Gunbroker, and have a buyer in Illinois.

Of course I will be shipping it to his local FFL for legal transfer.

Talked to the buyer on the phone and he doesn't sound like he knows anything about ARs (which he admitted - saying this was his first).

Any legal restrictions I should be aware of specific to Illinois regarding black rifles?

My auction listing stated I would include one 30 round mag - any problem with that in IL?

This is not Chicago.  It's going to southern IL.

Thanks.

AR's and 30 round magazines are both legal. The Chicago area has some restrictions(I don't really know what they are) but downstate is fine.

By law, a legal owner can ship long guns directly to a legal recipient IN STATE as long as they do the FOID backround check.

AR and 30rd mags are all good in the southern part of the state. Just Chicago and 1 or 2 towns near the city that have AR/mag restrictions. Ship it to his FFL and everything will be above board.
