Heading your way next week for a one day class in Rolla. I fly in and out of STL and have a spare day so I am looking for suggestions.

Is there a safe downtown area in STL with a hotel within easy walking distance of places with live music?

Your are best suited to stay outside of Downtown although crime knows no boundaries Downtown ofter dark isn't the best. Better areas are outside of the highway 270 loop on the west side of town.

Downtown STL isn't a great walking around area as bars/restaurants can be pretty spread out. The Soulard area usually has live music and so does Broadway Oyster Bar depending on the night, but I would just Uber from wherever you decide to stay.

The four seasons is downtown. Lots of cool stuff nearby. Just don't walk around at night

Last time was at the university, this time is through his consulting firm. I went a couple of years ago and it was much more informative than anything I got from ISEE. |

In a truly free country, Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms would be the name of a convenience store, not a federal agency

Maid rite and imos are one of those places where its slightly different and some people are fanatical about it. Both worth trying but not that great. Truthfuly there is nothing spectacular here that you can't get elsewhere. |

Last time they had a pretty fun open mike night and food was pretty good. |

View Quote I have ate at a few different imos and the one in Rolla is the best I’ve had. Closest one to me now is in Overland Park so I need to try it. |

Actually, I know it was. I know both of them, though. Yeah, I won't eat another Made Rite. It's just gross. I know there are a lot of people that like it but I'm not one of them. |
