It is likely the New York case will have at least minor impact on NJ transport laws. If someone say owns a house in North Jersey and a summer home at the shore it is currently illegal to take your handgun between them. I don't see how that could stand if SCOTUS rules a state cannot prohibit a gun owner from transporting a firearm between two places where it can be lawfully possessed.
