Why is it that no place else in the entire country has been able to replicate the authentic NY diner?
My personal favorite upstate is Flo's in Canastota, on Lake Oneida. What an awesome dump. I think the flavor comes from 40 years of grease accumulation, and the 10 cent coffee is great. Next time I get up to Syracuse to visit the in-laws I'll try the Rise and Shine.

We’ve been meaning to try it ever since we moved over to this side of town but always seem to end up going to Kim’s on route 11 instead.
Pretty interesting menu to say the least, we’ll get there one of these days. |

Lunch was delicious. But I thought we were going to have trouble when I saw this outside the front door:
