I have a 1911 that has just started occasionally becoming problematic.  For years it functioned like a Swiss watch, but recently developed occasional bobbles.  I'm looking for a good 1911 gunsmith in the south sound area (if possible) that is good at finding out what is going on.

So far I have:

1.  Tried different magazines
2.  replaced recoil spring, and tried different weight mainsprings.
3.  replaced extractor with a new Wilson extractor
4.  Thoroughly disassembled, inspected and cleaned the entire gun and slide..even inside the pain in the ass areas inside the slide.
5.  Tried different types of ammo, various factory rounds (JHP and ball ammo) and handloads that have previously worked great in this pistol, and still work great in other 1911 style pistols.

The bobbles in the pistol are very infrequent, but are still there, and I would like to go back to no bobbles if possible.

I would really appreciate recommendations for gunsmiths that are talented in troubleshooting...especially if they are in the south sound area.

Thanks in advance.

I cannot help you on the gunsmith end because I have not used one.
Could you describe “bobbles”? FTF, FTE?

Bobbles:  Round fails to get completely stripped off the magazine and chambered.  The round is about half way into the chamber.

Have tried different extractors, had extractors adjusted/tuned.  The gun never used to do this, and it just started getting temperamental.  A new recoil spring used to fix the issue, but so far, trying different recoil springs hasn't fixed the issue.

Is it the last round in the mag giving you grief? Have you tried a mag with a dimple on the follower?

Looking to piggyback on this for recommendations on the east side...Spokane, TC, Walla Walla?  I have a build that I don't have time to finish, just need someone to fit a barrel and it's done.
