I remember a while back some rocket surgeon was talking about the an island in Narragansett bay that was populated with rattlesnakes.

He said they should be allowed to re-populate the state.

Any information on which island it is?

Snakes in RI

"The "other" Gould Island, also known as Snake Island, is located in the Sakonnet River and was once used as a picnic area for guests at the Island Park amusement park in Riverside. It's now protected as a bird sanctuary by the Audubon Society of Rhode Island."

The best and easiest way to view snakes in RI is at the State House, while Legislature in in session.
