Heard this on GD, of all places.  Was a good dude, will be missed.

From his facebook page:

Hello all, this is Randy. Steve's younger brother. And it is with great sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of our oldest brother Steven. He passed on January 29th and he is now with our parents who preceded him on this journey. He will be incredibly missed, because he was loved by so many.
We love you big Bro! God speed and we'll see you on the other side.
A Celebration of life is being planned. Details will be shared upon request. Please send your request to (removed; please IM me with your email address and I'll pass it along to Randy).

Please write something about Steve in the comments below. We have our stories, we'd love to hear yours.

Good dude, good friend.
Knew him from back during the AWB, the AWB ending build party he had was epic, all our shoots at Arizonastan, sitting around drinking single malt, BBQs and BS sessions, good times.
Even took a few of us on a tour of the Boeing plant, got to see them building AH64s.
Always had a kind word, and a quick smile, one truly kind person.
Going to miss him.

I think it was threefeathers that posted of his passing in the AZHTF a couple weeks ago but the thread disappeared shortly after.

Only got to meet him a couple times. Seemed like a heck of a good man.... always smiling. Never heard a bad word said about him, either. RIP W_W.

Many shoots, Many Christmas parties, many pre-SAR show breakfasts, end of AWB party, Gunstock 03', etc

At one of the 'Old School' AZHTF shoots, I gave him a loaded C-Mag to shoot through 'The Judge' (if you don't know what The Judge was, your loss)
He lit up like a kid on Christmas.  He was a fun guy.

I'm confident he could be given credit for having the 1st ever 'bro dozer'.
What he did to his poor Dodge:
Steve never did anything that couldn't be over done.

I knew his dad before I knew Steve (he worked at a school I was SRO'ing back then).
I mentioned the school, Steve mentioned Ernie, and it surprised both of us.

His passing was the reason for my "Fuck 2021" post (his family had ask it not be made public just yet). He was a great guy and a great friend.

Well sheet, The passing of a gun buddy is what brought me to the HTF and now I see that Steve passed too. Damn it!
The shoots, the AWB sunset... man, God speed brother.
