I’m definitely the wrong guy to answer this question, but I’ll give my opinion anyways.
I’ve seen a lot of custom guns hit the resale market. They rarely seem to go for more or even the same as the original gun would have. The second owner usually gets the best deal.
Assuming you keep this forever and don’t care about resale, you are still taking a huge gamble. What if after all this work, it doesn’t shoot as good as it did before? I’d guess that’s more important than the weight savings. Never mind this rifle will no longer have a warranty.
Personally, I’d rather spend more money on a rifle with a factory carbon fiber barrel and build off of that.
This will also be a much quicker option. Maybe not cheaper, but probably quicker.
