Hi all.

ATF saw fit to recently release numbers of FFL's along with other statistical data in their annual Firearms Commerce Report

One thing that I found surprising was the number of FFL's listed in Rhode Island. The image below shows 600 FFL's for your state, which is more than either New Jersey or North Dakota.

Now I am aware that RI is the second most densely populated state in the Union. But having an FFL roughly every 2 square miles seems a bit peculiar no matter what part of the country that we're looking at. That is one FFL for roughly every 1760 citizens in the state.

Anyone have any idea what gives? Lots of kitchen table dealers maybe? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Swamp Yankees like to control their own destiny in 2A.  I also see we are only half the far Northern Swamp Yankees in NH.. we got work to do...

Does that include C&R's? It would make more sense that way.

This is the reason I would guess. Many of us have C&R's for 1, old guns are cool, and 2 it helps us with getting a carry permit.

I know a bunch of guys with FFLs but no gun store. Even John at URI outfitters in Hope Valley has an FFL but he doesn't sell guns.
