I’m up in Farmington and a dealer that I frequent is the only class 3 around here.
If you buy from them, there is no transfer fee. If you have something shipped to them, it’s about $100 and thinking about going up. I currently have a Bushwacker 46 in jail there. Considering the amount of paperwork, secure storage of the part, and having to answer all the questions about if my app is approved, the amount of money they are charging seems reasonable. This is my first suppressor, and they did a great job of guiding me through the process. I even paid less than msrp. My suggestion is to find a dealer that you can buy your can from. You will likely pay less when it’s all done. |

Thanks for the insight. "No transfer fee if you buy from us" is mostly what I'm seeing, but buying from their in-stock items or via Silencer Shop adds sales tax to the equation. At least one online retailer I've found has the 3 cans I want in-stock at great prices and doesn't appear to charge NM sales tax.
A $40 one-time kiosk fee, a $25 Form 4 fee per item, and a $75 transfer/storage fee per item is what I'm looking at then. I know suppressors are not a poor man's game, but adding $340 to the expense of three cans is hard to swallow. I'd rather pay some fees to a FFL to facilitate the purchase, but fees 2x the cost of the sales tax I'm trying to avoid isn't logical. |

Talk to your dealer.
Show them the all in price you are finding. Maybe they would be will to match the price, or at least come close. You never know until you try |
