For those outside the area, this is Keller's on NW Hwy in Dallas.  You can get a great burger, fries and a couple of beers for just over $12.  Lots of good hot rods to eyeball on weekends.  Been eating here for 36 years.

I  thought you were talking about the Weekend Pleasure Pit of my Youth.

Went to a LOT of Drive In Movies with my girl.  can't say I ever really paid attention to what was playing.

Glad her Parents never asked me what the movies we saw was about...

Thank You for the "Thunderbird Theater" back in the 70's!

My hood is best hood.  First beer is on me.  Two beers if you bring a righteous hotrod.

Storm's is my go to place, there are a million different local drive-ins in this state.

I'm more prone to stopping at the local joint, especially if they look like they've been in business a longtime.
The greasier, the better, don't let the non polished appearance of most of these places deter you.

I love a good drive-in but Top Notch in Austin is the only place in my AO that I can think of.  Besides Sonic but they don't count.

ETA: Keller's looks awesome.  My kind of place.

Made a pilgrimage back to Dallas almost 2 years ago - and naturally, had to hit Keller's for old time's sake -

The burger is still as good as ever, but the cheese on the Tater Tots is kind of hinky...

I may be blaspheming, but I was never a fan of tater tots.   On the other hand,  the onion rings are damn testy.

I'm in there often enough that a couple of gals can predict my order once I start with,  "let me get a #5....

Had to make another trip today after mowing.  #5 and fries.  Oh so good.

They do a pretty brisk business in beer sales, too.

Folks roll in, a car hop brings out a couple cases of longnecks, and they roll out - No need to even shut off the engine.

It's sort of like a beer barn with lots of shaded parking that also happens to serve an excellent burger.

Wagon Wheel Drive in, Big Spring, Texas is good.

Been there a few times when I lived there.

Been a while since I have been to Keller's. Went to Dairyette a few weeks ago though.

Flaming Burger is worth a try as well, the owner was originally a cook at Keller's, but it's not a drive in spot.
