Typical May around here. Windy and dry. I hate it. I want my humidity and I want it now!!!

Just send it, we will tell you when to stop.
All my grass is now crispy brown thank to the shit birds that run Hillsborough county. They decide to let the home building contractors go wild and not keep them in check. Not everyone in the southern part of the county are on severe water restrictions, you can only water your lawn once a week until 12/2022, yes 12/22. It's tough to keep it alive this time of year when they had a twice a week water restriction. Of course many here just say fuck it and water any way, if you get caught my code enforcement you get a $100 fine and you are fucking guilty until you can prove you are not. Like it you put in new sod, they don't know that but they will fine your ass anyway if it's not your watering day. |

Dry here in Lakeland Highlands also. There was a small brush fire earlier this week around Bartow which they were able to get under control fortunately.
Allegedly rainy season starts on May 25 according to the weather people on TV. Got my fingers crossed. |
Dry in Hudson, pond out back is a few feet low. The rain will probably come with vengeance.
They're now saying the 165 acre fire is 100% contained.
But we know how that can go. |
Here we are praying for rain and next month we will be praying for it to stop.
Oddly enough here in Trinity the skeeters are BRUTAL |
With rain it's either feast or famine around here. Whatever the weather is doing it is going to do it to the extreme in FL.

I was gonna mow the crispy lawn this weekend but I didnt want to start a dust storm.

I'm ready to get back to the afternoon stormy season. At least now that I work from home I can comfort the dog.
90 pounds of solid muscle yet he's terrified of the slightest bit of thunder. |
We're launching the boat in on our lake after lunch.
That should do it. |

Seems to be working, boat is in the water. Nice shower yesterday afternoon and more projected for later today.
Thunder!! We have got thunder in Lakeland Highlands and some light rain.
It rained hard for about 20 minutes here just before sunrise.

No, a few miles east of what they call south naples or Lely or swamp buggy grounds.
Picayune Strand is right about where 75 turns eastward and points toward Miami.
We had a bit a rain here (Bradenton), not enough but the lawn did lose some of its crunch. |

We had a good dose of rain last night in the central eastern part of Hillsborough / Lithia.
Problem is on Sunday there was a lightning strike nearby which started a pretty good rapidly growing blaze to my East. There was a tremendous turnout by the Hillsborough fire department, battalion 8 I was told. Maybe 10 pump trucks and some F350 type 4WD vehicles. They brought it under control and all looked good after a day of their work. There was a few hot spots and one of those sprang to life on Monday AM and within a very quick time grew into a massive killer. With the winds blowing westward and embers flying it covered some serious ground. It closed in on a neighbors house. We got the animals out and away. Another minute or two, probably less, and they would have been roasted. Also luckily by that time the Forestry department had some dozers on site. It was very close. Like a-hole tightening close. Between the dozer drivers, the Sheriffs department and police department rotary wing units dropping water and the firefighters, they were able to save the neighbors house and stop the spread in that direction and my home direction. The fire was still traveling on my south side. We were able to put out some spots and stop that direction of travel, again with some dozers cutting firebreaks and paths. I lost maybe 2 acres of planted trees. It could have been a lot worse. Had it kept moving west, county land was next and that would have been one massive fire. So my deep gratitude and thanks goes to those firefighters, dozer operators, copter pilots and friends that worked on this fire. Thank you all for your efforts. |

It is pouring rain right now in Lakeland Highlands.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. |
I’m sorry guys, it’s my fault. Apparently it only rains if I take the bike out.
Boat is still in the water, bilge pump has been getting a workout. Lakes up about 3". Another couple weeks of this and we won't need the step stool to get down in the boat.
Used to not care...Now I have a house with a big yard & brown grass.....
It looks like it's going to rain, get a 5 min shower then the sun comes out. |
Enough rain yet? Hasn't stopped in 3 days & my street looks like atlantis

Was down in Cape Coral on vacation last week. We had sun on Monday, and part of Tuesday. Wed we had lots of rain, then cloudy and off and on rain on Thursday. That tropical depression kept sending the crappy weather. That crappy weather had our private pool full of no-see-ums. We ended up leaving a day early to try and beat the storm when it hit land. No rain on friday up through the lower part of Alabama. But rain for the 5 hours of driving on Saturday.
Rained everyday for the last week here in Brevard.
Shit needs to quit- I got things to do on Thursday and my yard looks like a hay field. |
My lawn is happy for the first time in a long time. I’m thrilled.
we got 5 inches yesterday just north of Gainesville, on top of probably a dozen more in the past week. Water was flowing like a river through the property, half drowning the solar array, and filling the already wet swamp. I have had enough for awhile.
Darn, we finally got a good thunderstorm with some good rain.
The wind even blew for awhile. Cat hid as usual. |
