What a bunch of horseshit.

This is laughable.

Restaurant / Bar / Brewery / Distillery / Casino Guidelines ContinuedPHASE ONE: RESTAURANTS •Capacity must be limited to 50% of normal operating capacity to allow for adequate group spacing.•Tables must be limited to six people per table.•Establishments must provide for 6 feet of physical distancing between groups and or tables by:•Increasing table spacing, removing tables, or marking tables as closed;•Providing for a physical barrier between tables; or •Back-to-back booth seating provides adequate separation.•In-house dining for quick service restaurants should remain closed, if all guidelines can’t be met, including the cleaning of every table between customers.•Sitting or standing at bars or counters is not allowed.•In bars, drinks and food must be served to customers at a table

Whoever wrote this has never been in a small town bar, fucking morons.

And this one.

PHASE ONE: RESTAURANTS CONTINUED•Self-service buffets must be closed.•Drink refills are not allowed.•Self-service cups, straws and lids should be behind a counter and handed to customers•Self-service condiments should be eliminated.  •Gaming machines that are operational must be separated by 7-foot center to center. Machines must be placed out of service if adequate spacing cannot be assured

That might be the directives from the Gov, but your local health departments may do otherwise. Lewis and Clark has been getting in the act and strict. They are supposed to announce the plan for the county by Friday.

I do agree with you, it makes no sense. Almost like they are hoping, or planning, it will fail so they can say "I told you so" and make some snub to POTUS.

Dems think this will work in their favor.  The problem has become people nationwide are getting pissed at this "stay at home" BS.  We didn't do this crap when H1N1(Swine Flu) broke out in '09.

The poor children.
My kids, and their friends that they have talked to in their class meetings all want to go back.

I feel most sorry for the seniors. You only graduate once. They are being robbed of that experience.

I have young ones, 5 and 8, they’re not missing out on a lot of ‘learning’, but they miss seeing friends and teachers. Thankfully, they’ve been able to ride bikes and play outside with other kids in the hood, so that has been good. Today was the first day in a long time another kid came in our house, hope we don’t all die!

Yep I think that would be the hardest as a kid, no interaction with friends.

It’s been REALLY good though. Now they go outside together and invent games and hunt for rabbits and birds with the ‘spears’ they made. And the influence of other stupid kids obviously isn’t there anymore. (I know for a fact other parents say the same bout my kids).

https://billingsgazette.com/news/local/billings-business-selling-rapid-covid-19-test-kits-despite-health-officials-warnings/article_d8efd890-32aa-5200-aada-c3c1d211f605.html

Let me see if I understand this correctly:
The FDA won't approve this test, despite the fact that it does exactly what it claims and is supposed to do (which is allegedly 99.9% of FDA's criteria), but because it doesn't do what they want it to do?
The public health industry doesn't approve because it only shows who HAD the virus instead of who is currently infected and infectious (IE who they can make money off of)? Or is it because it can be done at home, and they can't make money off of the test itself?

Seems to me, like more widespread use of these tests might give us a better picture of how effective "stay at home" has been, how far we are into actual recovery. Most importantly, these tests would let us know how many more people may be able to donate plasma to aid the people suffering.

Let's not approve it, because it doesn't fit into the panic we want to keep feeding people, right?

This is the press release from "Karen" about reopening campgrounds in Lewis and Clark County.  Yes, it reads like someone scolding a child.

Pretty normal traffic in Missoula today.  Lots of folks in Costco, and masks there are mandatory come Monday.  No real items in short-supply that I could see. TP & Paper towels in the usual areas. Meat & seafood in normal amounts.  Traffic flow arrows on the floors but most folks not paying any attention. They changed back to having the customer unload the cart.

Masks mandatory at Good Foods. Normal activity at Albertsons & Wally World albeit with the new plexi-glass dividers.

B&N still closed. Talked to the Mgr. He said they can't get a straight answer from co health so they're not open, likely because they have a coffee & pastry section so the co. may think they're a restaurant vs a book store.  They would like to be open on the 4th but at least to the 15th.

We'll see what shakes loose next week.

Any reason why they couldn't open the book store without serving the food and beverage? When I was in North 40 last weekend, the coffee counter in there had a sign saying it was closed.

I brought that up, but the mgr said they were waiting to hear from the Co. health dept.  I guess its OK for the Co Health Department to specify differne t reg than the Gov but they should then let the businesses know whats OK & when they can open.

Holy shit that was annoying to read.

Has anyone heard anything about a potential date to lift the 14 day quarantine for travelers entering the state?

Last week I read that the 14 day limit will be lifted when the emergency is over.  It was buried in one of the announcements.

Great. Doesn't inspire confidence.   Does anyone know if they are enforcing it or what the penalty is for not obeying?  Can't seem to find that.

Let's ask first if these "directives" hold any legal footing. All are unconstitutional, anyone who try's to enforce them could be subject to this.

Deprivation Of Rights Under Color Of Law
Summary:

Section 242 of Title 18 makes it a crime for a person acting under color of any law to willfully deprive a person of a right or privilege protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States.

For the purpose of Section 242, acts under "color of law" include acts not only done by federal, state, or local officials within the their lawful authority, but also acts done beyond the bounds of that official's lawful authority, if the acts are done while the official is purporting to or pretending to act in the performance of his/her official duties. Persons acting under color of law within the meaning of this statute include police officers, prisons guards and other law enforcement officials, as well as judges, care providers in public health facilities, and others who are acting as public officials. It is not necessary that the crime be motivated by animus toward the race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin of the victim.

The offense is punishable by a range of imprisonment up to a life term, or the death penalty, depending upon the circumstances of the crime, and the resulting injury, if any.

TITLE 18, U.S.C., SECTION 242

Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States, ... shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if bodily injury results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

ETA The freedom to travel and assemble are protected rights under the constitution,we have all essentially been placed under house arrest without due process as well...

Well, looks like it may not matter for me.  United cancelled our flights scheduled for June 19 into Missoula.  On the phone with them now to see if they can get us on a flight a couple of days later, or into a different airport without charging extra.  Been on hold for 45 minutes while they "look into it". They said they will allow me to apply for a refund (oh thank you for giving me my money back for a service you didn't provide!) but it will take 25 to 30 business days before I get it back.

May be driving up there.
