I was driving a belly dump in the north metro years back.

GW Bush was coming to town, so they had to shut down everything. This was after 9/11.

We were stopped in the pit (planned), which had piles of material over 100 feet high.

Our orders were to shut down all trucks, and clock out (we were down for about 90 minutes). No engines running. Naturally, we all got out of our trucks and found some shade instead of roasting in the cab.

The gate to the pit was closed and locked. Nobody in or out.

SS was already stationed in the pit. There were 2 counter sniper teams (2 that I saw anyway) that made camp on top of some of the material piles. I bet they had fun climbing those bastards . Those material piles were the tallest structure around, so tactically relevent.

A helicopter came through and ran thermal over all the material piles, just to check for anybody who wasn't supposed to be there.

Then I saw the convoy, complete with decoy POTUS limo.

About 15 minutes after GW went by, we got back to work.
