Went into EZPawn in Mason City this morning, fully intending to buy a 1958 Remington 870 they have. This little gem was in the other half of the case. Winchester model 12, 20 gauge. Cylinder choke(marked as cyl, not cut down). Nickel steel, 25" barrel(correct for early guns). Unfucked-with and the 1300 serial number range puts it at 1912 production-first year made. Paid $154 and tax(brought it to $166)-have already been offered twice that.

The gun had just been added to the case today, an old guy who walked in behind me seemed pissed I was buying it.

Nice score! I was going to stop in there Tuesday & see what they had for guns.  I bought a S&W 632 Pro .327 Federal  magnum revolver at Hart's last year for a song some times you get lucky.

Most of the rest of what they have are pretty typical for pawnshops. Lots of 870's and 500's priced all over the map(anywhere from $205 for the old one I was going to buy up to $35 more than new) some old .22's including one of the old Springfield/JC Higgins/whoever else gill guns, one wood stocked Remington 700 in .30-06 for $475 and a couple SXS coach guns. Still considering that 870 though, oldest one I have seen. Looks like a Wingmaster(gloss finish, walnut stock) but predates the Wingmaster designation.

That's amazing, major score right there!

My dad has a 1917 Model 12 that his granddad bought new, they're beautiful guns.

Wow.

I spent last week working with a 1924 model 12, 12 GA.  When I returned it to the kid who owns and will shoot trap with it this season I told him to avoid letting it go for change if he was going to use the sale on a new 870.

I'd be pissed if you were the guy in front of me at the shop too!

While browsing I found a very similar gun on gunbroker-one year later, slightly nicer shape. Seller is asking $1200. Mine's not for sale.
