I'll be passing through Lincoln on I-80 in a couple of weeks.  When looking for a hotel, are there any parts of town that are better or worse than others?

Central Lincoln south of downtown by the state capital is rough, but there are no hotels there that I know of. Same goes for the area of 27th street north of O and south of Cornhusker highway.  Far north 27th by the interstate is fine.

West O street has a bunch of shitty hotels I would avoid.  It's kind of a run down industrial area.  Same thing for the area by the airport.

Depending on your budget, the downtown hotels are nice, especially the ones in the Haymarket district.  Lots of dining and entertainment options there.  Hotels by the interstate other than the airport ones will generally be ok, cheaper but not as fancy and won't have as many local amenities.
