Parts Kit Build Advice Requested

I have two parts kit I am considering sending into a gunsmith to be completed. One is a PSL and the other is a Polish DPM.

Are there any gunsmiths in the general Chicago area that are well regarded for this type of work?

I am from the far SW suburbs but I don't mind a drive for good work.

A PSL is essentially a scaled up AK, and Krebs Custom might be able to do it for you.

The DPM is an exceedingly complex reweld and build for a semi, the only option anywhere in the U.S. I am aware of is Rick Smith at SMG Guns (the guys who do the semiauto FG42's)

I will look into both of those companies.

I had come across the SMG website previously but it just left me wondering if they were even around anymore. Glad to hear they are.

Despite their 1998 era website they are around and 100% good to go.

I have 2 kits getting converted with SMG now. You might be able to get in on a production run now. shoot Rick an email.
