@lucashood

I've found a few secondhand references to this but nothing solid. Is open carry covered by the constitutional carry law? I'm assuming yes but I'd like a yes/no from someone who knows for sure.  In OK they specifically included it into their CC law so that anti-gun cities/towns couldn't charge people if their gun printed or otherwise became visible for a second.

Georgia sees no difference between Open and Concealed carry.  Either way is fine.

@Brandi

Open carry is allowed under the permit-less carry law.

Open and concealed carry are mostly treated the same under Ga. law now, and the permit-less carry law actually got rid of the requirement for unlicensed persons to carry loaded long guns only in an open manner.

The very weak campus carry provision of law does still only apply to the carrying of handguns that are concealed, however.

Ga. law also prohibits the detention of license holders or those carrying under the permit-less carry bill from being detained for the sole purpose of investigating whether they have a weapons carry license, or whether they're carrying as a "lawful weapons carrier", under the permit-less carry law.

No issue with printing either, so you're good to go there.

Let me offer:

While detaining someone to investigate lawful carry status, nothing prevents an officer from asking about lawful carry status.

Nothing prohibits investigating carry status if being detained for another lawful reason.

Don't give up that permit. Cause things can change next election. N u give up that ability to walkout with a gun n no nics call.

Edit and permitless carry is not part reciprocating agreement with other states.
