Fuck yeah!
Lets people sue the state on the constitutionality of any order in their county of residence and pays them attorney fees if they win. View Quote |

Dewine said many times he doesn't care if they sue him for his mandates. "I've been sued before and expect more". If it doesn't cost "him" it doesn't matter.
|
|
This is only the first step. Can anyone speak to how this will relate to local Municipal and County ordinances passed that mimicked Dewine's orders? If it doesn't remove the local ordinances, it's only a minor step, until each City is sued into submission.

I don't know that I am confident the governor is going to veto the bill as it stands," Senate President Matt Huffman, R-Lima, said. He hoped DeWine would consider the amount of support SB 22 has within his own party, and the fact that Huffman's confident he has the votes to quickly override a veto. Quoted: So help an uneducated guy out here: what is the time frame for this type of thing? Lawmakers pass bill to let them rescind health orders, setting up clash with DeWine Changes made to the bill Tuesday night prohibit local health boards from issuing widespread quarantine or school shutdown orders and allow Ohio citizens to sue the state government from their home counties if they feel orders made are unconstitutional. |

SB 22 seeks to wholly curtail the concentrated tyranny of "health emergency" that we were put through last spring, ...and continue to slough through...
Lawmakers pass bill to let them rescind health orders, setting up clash with DeWine SB 22, introduced by GOP Sens. Rob McColley of Napoleon and Terry Johnson of McDermott, would give lawmakers the power to rescind public health orders they disagree with via passing a concurrent resolution. They could strike down a health order the same day it is issued. State Sens. Terry Johnson, R-McDermott, and Rob McColley, R-Napoleon, are the main sponsors of Senate Bill 22. If an order is rescinded, the state would be prohibited from reissuing the same (or similar) order for a period of 60 days. Lawmakers could also rescind a state of emergency declaration after 30 days have passed. The bill would limit emergency declarations to 90 days in length, with legislative approval needed to extend it further. View Quote |

So, I have not heard of any veto/signature by DeWine. I assume that after today it becomes law then? So, if I am reading this correctly, a bill has to be introduced to actually remove the mask mandate, correct?

...major black eye to napoleon dewine!!!!
...he had many an opportunity to back down and admit he overreached, ..but didn't, ...instead he complained that the bill was "unconstitutional" and violated "separation of powers"... love the karma! BREAKING: Republican Lawmakers Override DeWine Just One Day After SB22 Veto Senator Terry Johnson, SB22 co-sponsor, said during his floor speech in the Senate “it intrigues me when the word science is brought up.” Johnson, a student of science who has practiced medicine for over 30 years, pointed out that opinion and emotion are not science – and the fact that the votes for and against the bill go along party lines is “politics, not science.” Johnson, as he did in his first floor speech in favor of the bill before it went to DeWine for a veto, highlighted the 300 Ohioans who testified in favor of the bill when it was in committee. “These are people who wanted to be heard.” He continued, “I challenge the media to not do the stories about Terry Johnson” but to look into the 300 proponent testimonies. “Ask them, ‘What happened to you over the last year?’ ‘What’s your opinion?’ Crickets are what I hear from the media.” View Quote |

Once this goes into effect, no reason I can see that this can't be used to end the mask mandate.
Both my reps were on board for this bill. |

View Quote I believe the mask mandate will end on a federal level shortly. CDC has already dropped crumbs for this by saying anyone vaccinated can hangout with an unvaccinated person indoors without a mask. Official guidance will be to just assume anyone not wearing a mask has been vaccinated, and voila, masks disappear. |
