Thanks. We always see a bunch of gun related bills offered (mostly encroaching on our 2nd Amendment rights), but most never see the light of day.

Please keep us posted on any that make it out of committee.

Yes, please.  A couple of those are pretty heinous. I wish Andy Gipson was still in there.  He would waffle stomp that crap down the drain.

I wrote my local representative encouraging him to vote for HB 753.  My message was rather long, but I hope that it is read as I think it was well written.  It seems like conservatives contact their representatives relatively infrequently in comparison to left wing activists, and if we want a second amendment in 50 years we need to change that.

Which MS reps do ya'll think are likely to actually read messages from their constituents?

Thanks. I like the following text in the amendment to  House Bill 1215 TO PROHIBIT STATE AGENCIES FROM RESTRICTING THE POSSESSION OF FIREARMS:

"Before instituting suit under this subsection, the party adversely impacted by the rule or regulation shall notify the Attorney General in writing of the violation and include evidence of the violation.  The Attorney General shall, within thirty (30) days, investigate whether the state agency adopted a rule or regulation in violation of this section and provide the chief administrative officer of the state agency notice of his findings, including, if applicable, a description of the violation and specific language of the rule or regulation found to be in violation.  The state agency shall have thirty (30) days from receipt of that notice to cure the violation.  If the state agency fails to cure the violation within that thirty-day time period, a suit under paragraph (a) of this subsection may proceed."

I just wish the last didn't say "may"  I prefer "shall".

A couple of good ones died but at least all the bad ones did too. Basically we maintained status quo. We live to fight another day.

The fact that communist style anti-gun legislation is even introduced in our state is a bad sign.

I live in Dallas, which is run almost exclusively by communists, and gun related stuff is a giant, stinging pain in the ass here, despite the much vaunted Texas love for guns.

There are a million petty, arbitrary rules, fees, penalties, regulations and other things designed for the express purpose of discouraging the ownership, carry and use of guns except in the most strictly regimented circumstances, and people here are perfectly okay with this, which is something I found out to my amazement.

That mentality is why constitutional carry hasn’t and probably will never get any traction here, despite having these ridiculous tactical department store guns shops on literally every corner.
