Let's take the road less traveled again this week. There will be mud, and ambient light is low on the way back, so bring a red or green headlamp.  Bug & tick spray is a very good idea.

This is a low-profile hike from Hunter Mill Road to Rt 7 via the CCT / Difficult Run trail.  Most of the trail is not paved, and there will be mud spots to navigate.  Portions are past private back yards, so we'll maintain light / noise discipline at those spots.

If it's too muddy, we can still do the standard walk to Reston Town Center.  With daylight savings time, Karens will be about.  No full kit, but helmets and NODs are good protection from those errant drunk cyclists.

Standard boilerplate follows;
PM me if you need directions to the step off point.
Return be after sunset, so bring a head lamp or flashlight if you're scared of the dark.  NODs are are in season.
Leashed K9's are welcome.  We will see deer and other critters so use your judgement.
Wear good boots / socks.
Bring water.
Return trip will be in the dark.  Bring lighting of your choice.
PM me if you want off the notifications list.

Thanks for the invite!

ETA - People take this site WAY too seriously, especially in GD.

Be careful what you post, even if you're just joking!

GD comprises a bunch of cannibals!

Bucking trees is good exercise too.

Looks like it's me and the dog tonight!

I don’t have a good excuse like Ambridge77, but I’m out.

Will do a shorter hike around the neighborhood with my son tonight.

Sorry I missed yesterday.  A lot of damage from fallen trees in Fauquier during Wednesday's t-storms.

Pics of my stepson's car:

Dang!  That could have been real bad.

I think you said everyone got out unscathed, correct?

Correct, no injuries.

I expected much worse with all those tall, heavy trees there.

Hopefully my sons steered well clear of the downed power lines,
and didn't actually walk through them like I thought they said.

They should know better.
