Three women who said Roy Moore asked them for dates as teens - when he was in his early 30s - testified Thursday morning in Leigh Corfman’s defamation lawsuit against the former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.
Two of the women said they went on multiple dates with Moore in about the same period that Corfman alleges she was sexually molested by Moore while one said her mother did not permit her to accept an invitation for a date.
..
None of the women – Gloria Thacker Deason, Wendy Brackett Miller and Debbie Wesson Gibson -- alleged wrongdoing by Moore.
Deason and Miller shared their encounters with Moore in the original Washington Post story along with Corfman. Gibson’s story came out almost a month later.
..
Moore has repeatedly denied knowing any of the women who spoke about their romantic encounters with him.
Gibson said she was a “little shocked and saddened” as well as “disheartened” that Moore denied knowing her. She said they went on several dates and that she invited him to attend her high school graduation and made a notation at the time in a memory book that he was there. She also said Moore gave her a graduation card with a handwritten note inside that included his signature.
The memory book notation and the handwritten note were shown to the jury on video.

Before testimony began Thursday, Circuit Judge John Rochester dismissed a juror for inappropriate contact with a witness following the end of proceedings Wednesday. The dismissed juror was the only White juror, leaving a remaining jury made up entirely of Blacks.
