North Carolina - Four Schools Closed over Teacher's PLASTIC Sword
Avast! You just can’t be too safe these days, maties, which is why officials at a rural North Carolina school district locked down four public schools after somebody spotted an elementary school teacher dressed as a pirate.
The freebooter fracas occurred in the small town of Richlands, N.C. on International Talk Like A Pirate Day — Sept. 19 (every year). Full details concerning the lockdown have only come out this week, however, according to local ABC affiliate WCTI. Richlands Elementary School was the first school to be locked down, just after 10 a.m., after a cafeteria staffer saw a “suspicious person.” Specifically, explains a sheriff’s office report released Wednesday, the food service worker saw the teacher dressed up as a pirate and mistook the plastic sword part of the costume as a gun. Richlands Elementary School had been celebrating pirates all week, area NBC affiliate WITN reports. Nevertheless, the cafeteria worker called the school office about the “suspicious person.” “Shiver me timbers!” officials in the office must have exclaimed, and they initiated a process which resulted in lockdowns at three other Onslow County schools: Richlands Primary School, Trexler Middle School and Richlands High School. The lockdowns lasted for about three hours. Law enforcement officials searched the schools for the “suspicious person.” They brought police dogs. View Quote More here |

Texas: Subpoenas Pastors Demanding Sermons
The city of Houston has unbelievably issued subpoenas to a group of pastors demanding that they hand over any sermons related to the topics of homosexuality, gender identity or Annise Parker, the city’s first openly lesbian mayor.
Those who fail to comply could be held in contempt of court. The subpoenas are just the latest twist in an ongoing saga over the Houston’s new non-discrimination ordinance. The law, among other things, would allow men to use the ladies room and vice versa. The city council approved the law in June. View Quote More |

Alabama: Makes 5-year Old Sign a No Homicide Contract!
A five-year-old girl from Alabama was forced to sign a suicide and homicide contract after pretending her crayon was a gun. Feel free to face palm.
"They told me she drew something that resembled a gun,” Rebecca told NBC News. “According to them she pointed a crayon at another student and said ‘pew pew.” When Mobile County Public School officials saw the drawing, they forced the young girl, Elizabeth, to take a questionnaire evaluating any potential homicidal and suicidal thoughts. They then made Elizabeth sign a contract stating that she wouldn’t kill herself or anyone else at the school. “While I was in the lobby waiting, they had my 5-year-old sign a contract about suicide and homicide,” Rebecca says. “There should be a different way to handle this situation. If this is protocol it needs to be looked at again.” The school is trying to convince Rebecca to take her daughter to a psychologist. Rebecca refuses to do so, and is instead trying to get the incident removed from Elizabeth’s record. View Quote "pew pew" at Alabama More stupid |

Texas: Tea Party are Nazis
A psychology professor at South Texas College in Weslaco, Texas, was seemingly caught on video last month comparing the tea party to the Nazis of the 1930s in Germany.
He then told his students not to “tell anybody” about his remarks — but one of his students had already started filming after he allegedly called Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) a “bastard” for using the name “Cruz” to win his election. View Quote “This semester, [Dr. Armstrong] insulted Republicans about three times before this video was recorded,” he added. On this day, he called Sen. While the student said Armstrong’s Nazi-tea party reference is the most “severe” rhetoric he’s heard in the class so far, he argued “it’s very easy to see that he has a vendetta against Republicans and religion with an emphasis on Christianity.” View Quote I'm certain if it happened here you'd have heard about it before now. Texas: College Professor Race Baiting
Both the Michael Brown shooting and the Eric Garner case have sent liberals in the realm of higher education into a complete foaming at the mouth style frenzy as they seize every opportunity possible to indoctrinate students with the progressive ideal of “white privilege.” A professor in Texas, however, is discovering that not all the folks in the school’s student body are foolish enough to play into the twisted rhetoric and race baiting.
A professor at Lone Star College- Tomball in Texas is missing a few homework assignments after some students were unhappy they had to complete a worksheet that measured their “white privilege.” “I was shocked, I thought it was a joke [when I received the assignment],” a student told KPRC, who didn’t want to be identified for fear of academic retaliation. “There was a white privileges handout and a white privileges checklist and a white privileges quiz to see how privileged you are as a white person.” The student said it made him feel singled out, even though the class is online. The worksheet, which had twenty questions, asked students to check a statement off if it applied to them. Prompts included “If a traffic cop pulls me over or if the IRS audits my tax return, I can be sure I haven’t been singled out because of my race” and “I can turn on the television or open to the front page of the paper and see my race represented.” ---snip--- It’s obvious that progressives like this professor are helping to divide America along racial lines and pushing a radicalized agenda under the disguise of “equality” to help the government gain more control over how people act and what they say. Arizona: Immigrants get closer to having driver's licenses
The high court denied a request by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer to put a previous decision by a lower court on hold. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals had ordered the case's judge to bar enforcement of Brewer's policy of denying licenses to about 20,000 young immigrants protected from deportation by an Obama administration policy enacted in 2012.
It's not known when U.S. District Judge David Campbell will issue an order that will make immigrants eligible to get licenses once it's signed. Karen Tumlin, an attorney for the immigrants, said Campbell could act quickly or order a briefing from attorneys. "I think things will be moving very quickly," she said. Oklahoma: Bras are Racist
The editorial board of a college newspaper has declared that bras are racist because they come in colors named “nude,” since non-white people’s skin isn’t that color when they’re nude.
“How would it make you feel that the fashion industry and society at large has based its ideal of nude on Caucasian people? That the color of your skin doesn’t count as ‘nude’?” asks the staff editorial, published by the Oklahoma Daily, the official newspaper of the University of Oklahoma. The board used the same reasoning to conclude that that “nude” makeup, “flesh-colored” clothing, and Band-Aids were also racist. The piece referred to the bra color name as one of the “subtle examples of racism” — often referred to as a “microaggression” — that apparently runs rampant in our society today. View Quote Source |

Texas: Walmart Refuses to Print Pictures of Guns
They dropped the printable pictures off at their local Walmart store in Dallas, Texas, but when Stephanie returned to the store to pick up the reprints she was surprised to see the envelope had this message written on it: “Minus one 5X7 (photo) No Weapons.” The engaged couple was out one special photo that was particularly important to them. But what she was definitely not prepared for was what the store associate was about to accuse the couple of doing.
Stephanie had come up with the idea to pose with Mitch’s first 12-gauge shotgun that he had bought himself. It was his beloved go-to gun for outdoor sport, but the retail giant refused to print it. According to the Star-Telegram, this year organizers chose to select a more diverse group of faith leaders to offer prayers before events at the Fort Worth Stock Show. But, for many, the inclusion of a Muslim Imam was a step far too far. “I just will choose NOT to go somewhere that embraces a religion that wants me, my family and my people DEAD,” one individual wrote on the rodeo’s Facebook page, according to the Star Telegram. “Muslim/Islam has no place in this country let alone fwssr. Colorado: Bakeries MUST Make ‘Gay’ Cakes, But Can Refuse to Make Christian Cakes
In a bizarre new twist on the religious liberty front, Colorado officials have determined that bakeries must cater to proponents of gay marriage but are not legally obliged to decorate cakes with Bible verses.
Christian activist Bill Jack has denounced a decision by the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Regulatory Agencies, which found Azucar Bakery in Denver not guilty of discrimination for refusing to bake a cake adorned with Bible quotes condemning sodomy. Last March, Jack went to Azucar Bakery and requested two cakes to be decorated with biblical messages. “I requested two cakes, each in the shape of an open Bible. On the first cake I requested on one page, ‘God hates sin — Psalm 45:7,’ and on the facing page, ‘Homosexuality is a detestable sin — Leviticus 18:22,’” Jack said. Jack also said: On the second cake I requested on one page, “God loves sinners,” and on the facing page, “While we were yet sinners Christ died for us – Romans 5:8.” I also requested a decoration of two groomsmen holding hands with a cross in the background with a ghostbusters symbol over it to illustrate that such a union is unacceptable biblically. Texas: Political Correctness to the Extreme
A man who worked as a server at Zenna Thai and Japanese restaurant in Dallas was given a free ticket to the unemployment office after black customers complained about the way they were described on a receipt.
You’re probably thinking this guy must have said something heinous, awful, egregious, and totally hateful, right? Not so much. He basically described the customers as being black. Which they were. So the man didn’t use a racial slur, nor does it appear he intended any sort of disrespect, yet he was canned for “offending” this group of customers? Now we can’t say “black guys” or “black people?” I’m pretty sure if a group of white dudes had been given the receipt identifying them as caucasian males, it wouldn’t have been a big deal. It’s not like that’s offensive. If the receipt said the “n word” or something else derogatory, that would be a whole different ball game. Now, as a conservative, I fully believe this restaurant has the right to hire and fire whoever they want, but I also think we as a culture need to be careful about how far we’re allowing the political correctness line to keep getting moved back. The oversensitivity has to end somewhere, otherwise we can kiss freedom of speech goodbye, because as culture goes, so goes politics. If people continue to be easily offended, it’s a heck of a lot easier for big government progressives to suggest legislating speech as a solution to the problem. Let’s hope this poor guy is able to find a new job, and this incident doesn’t hinder him from getting work. View Quote Those Texans are nut cases. More here |

Florida: Illegal to Back into Driveway
For those who prefer to back vehicles into their driveways, a proposal pending before City Council would make it illegal to park their cars that way unless their license plate information is clearly visible from the street.
The proposed bill is aimed at cracking down on the visual blight that occurs when vehicle owners store cars that don’t work on their property. Proponents say it’s needed because city code enforcement inspectors face problems cracking down on abandoned vehicles because they need to get the license plate information in order to write a citation. If they cannot see the tags from the street because the car is backed in, they cannot go onto private property to get a closer look at the front of the vehicle. The bill filed by City Councilman Warren Jones says that if a vehicle’s tag isn’t visible from the street, the owner must write down that information with 2-inch tall letters and post it in a location that inspectors can easily see from the street. Washington: Implants 12 Year Old Girls with IUDs without their Parents Knowing
Earlier this month, LifeNews.com reported on a high school in Seattle, Washington that is now implanting intrauterine devices (IUD), as well as other forms of birth control and doing so without parental knowledge or permission.
The IUD is known as a long acting reversible contraception, and may even act as an abortifacient. So, a young teen in Seattle can’t get a coke at her high school, but she can have a device implanted into her uterus, which can unknowingly kill her unborn child immediately after conception. Or, if she uses another method, she can increase her chances of health risks for herself, especially if using a new method. The high school, Chief Sealth International, a public school, began offering the devices in 2010, made possible by a Medicaid program known as Take Charge and a non-profit, Neighborcare. Students can receive the device or other method free of cost and without their parent’s insurance. And while it’s lauded that the contraception is confidential, how can it be beneficial for a parent-child relationship when the parents don’t even know the devices or medication their daughter is using? As it turns out, Chief Sealth isn’t the only school in Seattle doing this. As CNS News reports, more schools are fitting young girls — as young as 6th grade — with the devices and doing so without their parents knowing. View Quote More Shocking. |

The Black Panthers marched into the street in front of the jail chanting “Whose streets?… Our streets!” Many of the members of the group were armed with shotguns, hunting rifles and AR-15 style assault rifles. Hawaii: Police to destroy half a million dollars worth of guns
The Honolulu Police Department and City of Honolulu recently decided it will destroy $500,000 worth of fully-functioning handguns, rather than selling them for revenue. This decision comes after the department signed a contract for new service handguns to be used by officers. By destroying these guns, the City is throwing away nearly half-a-million dollars of taxpayer money over the irrational fear that these guns will “end up on the streets of Honolulu.” This assumption appears to be in line with an anti-gun agenda. Further, the department doesn't even trust the highly trained HPD officers to purchase their own previously used service guns back for personal use, let alone private citizens looking to exercise their constitutional rights.
At this time, it is undetermined how much taxpayer money is going to be spent by the city of Honolulu to destroy these firearms, some of which are brand new and still in their boxes. This is a poor use of Honolulu’s taxpayer money and resources. View Quote More |

Tennessee: There is Only One God and Muhammad is His Prophet
Tennessee parents are voicing their concerns about a middle school history assignment in which students were asked to write "Allah is the only God."
Brandee Porterfield joined "Fox and Friends" this morning, saying she has no problem with her seventh-grade daughter learning about Islam as part of world history, but believes time should also be devoted to Christianity. "They did this assignment where they wrote out the Five Pillars of Islam, including having the children learn and write the Shahada, which is the Islamic conversion creed," she explained. Porterfield said she spoke with the Spring Hill Middle School teacher and principal, who said there would not be similar lessons on Christianity and Judaism. She said she reviewed the state standards and there are upcoming lessons on Hinduism and Buddhism. Unlike the lessons on Islam, however, Porterfield said students would not be expected to memorize a creed dealing with those religions. "They don't study any other religions to this extent. ... It is the state sponsoring religion in schools. They're not going over anything else. For the students to have to memorize this prayer, it does seem like it's indoctrination," said Porterfield. Texas: Closed School because of a Clock
Ahmed Mohamed, the ninth grader from Irving, Texas, who police led out of MacArthur High School in handcuffs for bringing a homemade clock to school has sparked an outpouring of support online.
Mohamed, who loves robotics and building things, made an alarm clock to show his teachers his interest in engineering, The Dallas Morning News reported Tuesday night. His engineering teacher told him it was nice but not to show anyone else. An English teacher later heard the beep and kept the clock. The principal and a police officer pulled him out of class to interrogate him, according to the news report, which stated: The 14-year-old missed the student council meeting and took a trip in handcuffs to juvenile detention. His clock now sits in an evidence room. Police say they may yet charge him with making a hoax bomb — though they acknowledge he told everyone who would listen that it’s a clock. Teachers shouldn't respond to inventive kids by calling the cops, entrepreneur Anil Dash tweeted Tuesday night, after the story broke. The hashtag #IStandWithAhmed has been trending on Twitter worldwide since then. View Quote More stupid zero Texas tollerance Where in this process did the teachers and staff demonstrate critical thinking or compassion? The student kept telling them he built a clock. If it had been a threatening object, his engineering teacher would have alerted authorities right away. Would an English teacher fearing a bomb take it in her own possession? Why weren't the student's parents contacted right away?

Wyoming - Bans ‘American Pride Day’
“Principal Scott Crisp said that it was not the spirit of the theme, but that a student survey noted that it might have been the name itself that caused some students to feel excluded.
‘Three times as many students indicated that they were not in support of selecting the title ‘America Day,’’ Crisp said. ‘I’m charged with looking at a school with 660 kids, and I have to ensure that all those kids feel part of a student body. Regardless of the name of the day, we want to ensure that activities of the week … bring our students together holistically as a student body.’” View Quote More Nothing ever happens in Wyoming. |

Iowa: Bans 21 Gun Salute from Veteran's Day
Belle Plaine High School is banning the 21 gun salute for the first time ever at the school's annual Veteran's Day assembly because the school says it promotes gun violence.
However, a Post 39 legioneer has offered his own yard across from the school for the assembly so the salute can continue. Still, the news has angered some people in Belle Plaine, as veterans firing blank rifles at the assembly has been a fun and safe tradition for as long as some students can remember. New York: High School Quarterback Penalized for Thanking God
Granted, it’s just a football game – but what happened in New York over the weekend is an example of something that’s happening across the country. Christians are being told to keep their beliefs to themselves.
Geno, who lives in a small town north of Syracuse, New York, encouraged his son to find a subtle way to praise the Lord after making big plays “He wanted to do something at that moment to take credit away from himself and give glory to God,” Geno said. “God gives us the ability and the talent. As Christians, we want to be sure to give that back immediately.” So on Oct. 17 when Dante ran 73 yards for a touchdown, the 17-year-old quarterback raised a single finger to the sky. Dante was honoring the Lord. But a referee said he was taunting. View Quote More |

Texas: Christian daycare workers fired for not following transgender agenda.
HOUSTON, Texas — Two daycare workers have been fired for refusing to go along with the center’s transgender agenda. Madeline Kirksey, one of the workers who is an author of a Christian book, says her religious liberty rights have been violated. The two were fired after refusing to call a little girl a boy.
The two male parents of a six-year-old little girl told employees at the school to refer to their daughter as a boy, and to call her by a new masculine name. The little girl’s hair had also been cut like a boy’s. Kirksey told Breitbart Texas in an interview, that the problem was not so much with the transgender issue as it was with telling young children that the little girl was a boy when she was not, and with calling her “John” (not the name given) when that was not her name. She, and another worker who does not want to be identified, were fired from the Childrens’ Lighthouse Learning Center in Katy, Texas, a city just west of Houston. Brushing this one off ...
Rhode Island: Introduces Assault Weapons Ban in Congress House Democrats are making yet another push to restrict the rights of American citizens to purchase certain types of firearms.
Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I.) has introduced the “Assault Weapons Ban of 2015”. The bill would ban the manufacture and sale of AR-15 rifles and other semi automatic long guns. “Assault weapons are designed for the sole purpose of killing as many people as quickly as possible,” Cicilline said in a statement to The Hill. “We need to do everything we can to reduce the toll of gun violence by keeping these weapons out of our communities.” This bill would allow current owners of semi-auto rifles to keep their firearms, however they would not be able to sell or transfer them. The bill would also deny firearms dealers from selling a firearm if the federal background check does not come back after three days. Under current law, if the background check system does not respond after three days, the dealer can proceed with the transaction. With a very strong Republican majority in both houses of Congress the bill likely has little chance of passing. However, the bill could signal the Democrats’ intentions when it comes to gun control if they were to win control of Congress in the 2016 election. Washington: Judge upholds Seattle's 'gun violence' tax
(Reuters) - A judge upheld Seattle's new tax on firearms and ammunition sales on Tuesday, rejecting a challenge from the National Rifle Association claiming the measure violated a state law barring municipalities from enacting firearm legislation.
The Seattle City Council unanimously approved a "gun violence tax" on sellers of firearms and ammunition in August, directing proceeds toward violence prevention programs and research beginning in January 2016. A companion measure requires gun owners to report cases of lost and stolen firearms to police. ----snip---- Under the new Seattle law, gun sellers will be taxed $25 for every gun sold plus 2 or 5 cent taxes on each round of ammunition. Seattle City Council President Tim Burgess said the tax was a "legitimate and appropriate way to raise revenue for gun safety research and prevention programs" in the city. Florida: Names Highway Barack Obama Highway
RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. – The city council voted in August to remove the name ‘Old Dixie Highway’ within the city limits due to ties to the confederacy and General Robert E. Lee.
On Thursday, that task was carried out. Old Dixie Highway was officially renamed President Barack Obama Highway. Riviera Beach Mayor Thomas Masters stated, “We are stepping up to a new day, a new era, and replacing Old Dixie with Barack Obama, who represents change.” ---snip--- Riviera Beach is now the only city in America to have an intersection named President Barack Obama Highway and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. What a tremendous insult to a great republican, Dr. Martin Luther King. Washington: Proposes Interest Free Housing For Muslims
As part of an effort to address housing affordability in Seattle, Mayor Ed Murray has been searching for a way to allow followers of Islamic Sharia law to buy housing without violating tenants of their faith.
This idea is one of many that was introduced in a proposal which had called for community leaders and lenders to collaborate on exploring different options. "For our low- and moderate-income Muslim neighbors who follow Sharia law - which prohibits the payment of interest or fees for loans of money - there are limited options for financing a home," the proposed plan reads. "Some Muslims are unable to use conventional mortgage products due to religious convictions." Because Sharia law dictates that Muslims are forbidden to pay interest on loans, it becomes impossible for many of them to purchase a home, reported Progressives Today. However, in exchange for letting them do either, the rest of the public would be forced to pick up the debt. View Quote More |
