S-9430, Provides that a police officer shall file an application, which shall be sworn, and accompanying supporting documentation, setting forth the facts and circumstances justifying the issues of an extreme risk protection order, introduced in Codes. No companion.

I have mixed feelings on this. We went through some scenarios of this in one of our talks at the gun club three years ago.
On one hand there would supposedly be a protocol that had to be followed rather than just some irate neighbor etc baselessly reporting someone. On the other hand I think it's a gateway to disarming innocent people.
Regardless of any law we need to be vigilant and be proactive if we suspect hostile activity.

Yet we already have "Red Flag" laws and the Buffalo nut case was in fact hauled in. Bluffed his way out and went on to do what he did I get the feeling they are headed down the "Double Secret Probation" scenario from "Animal House": "Let's make it even more illegal and see what happens".
