On Dec 12, 2019, at 12:30 pm the DNR adopted a new Land Use Order for the Lapeer pit.

The Order will ban ALL target shooting in the entire Lapeer State Game Area, except at the "new and improved" pit.
So you can't go down the road and shoot.

The Order will eliminate ALL target shooting at the pit except in established government constructed, approved and regulated lanes and positions.
The Order will only allow paper targets with bullseyes to be used affixed to the fixed shooting boards.
No more standing at the firing line and shooting downrange at your own choice of targets.  None of your other targets will be allowed.

Adoption of the Order means the end of the Pit as we know it.

Won't be many Lapeer folk at 5/3 ballpark. That's a long drive for the Lapeer folk.

Of course it is being discussed at the one meeting all the way across the State.  The DNR document says they worked with the Road Commission to shut down a road too.

Sounds like some freedom loving Michiganders need to run for local government in 2020.

I'm guessing that was planned.

I've used up my sick days or I'd drive the 32 miles to 5/3. I've been to "The Pit" many times when I lived in SE MI.

What  is the out come of the vote?
