Looking to do some stuff with the kids spring break week. (8&10). Thinking of a couple of short trips around the state, 1-2 days. . Starting point is Hampton Roads. We can do all the local stuff whenever so give me some other good ideas! Out to the blue ridge for a hike and? Would be nice.

Skyline Drive is nice and scenic and has many access points, for short circuit hikes, that include parts of the Appalachian Trail.

Cape Charles on the Eastern Shore is nice, good fishing and a nice beach or head west to the blue ridge tons of cool hikes in Shenandoah national park, check out the blue ridge tunnel in Afton (old railroad tunnel that opened this past fall for hiking).  If your feeling really adventurous look into Grayson Highlands State Park for some great hiking/camping and wild ponies
