Maybe it's different now but when I went down there many years ago you couldn't even buy any BBQ from the contestants. Went there hungry expecting to get some good grub but you could only buy a crappy sandwich from the place in the carnival area. Never been back.

You buy a bunch of .50 tickets, then use those to vote from each contestant on the peoples choice. So you go around and get 1 rib or a little sample from dozens of people. Many are just putting them out is little samples.
I ate about 5 pounds! |
