Oh man, thats my biggest fear! My safes bolted to the concrete and we have the house alarmed. We're also in a neighborhood on a busy street so that helps.

Next time you get a safe BOLT IT TO THE FLOOR! AND GET AN ALARM SYSTEM!

I got $10 on the hvac guys dropping a dime on ya. You should hire a couple of thugs to get some names out of him.

ETA: happen day or night?

Day. Neighbor with clear view of my house was home as well. He noticed that my garage was open (they left it open after they made off with my safe), but he just replaced his broken cell phone, and didn't have my contact info yet. Not that it would have made a huge difference, he noticed that around 2PM and I got home about 3:30.

Stop by pawn shops to see if your guns are there. Police can recover it from pawn shops, and should have records of purchases.

Pawn shops have to hold things for 30days and report all items brought in to LE on an online database. You want stolen stuff to get brought to a pawn shop. It gets found that way.
